Behind the Scenes: How VMware is Transforming to a SaaS Company with VMware Cloud on AWS, Project Dimension, and More
VMware has traditionally been a software company, delivering shrink-wrapped software that our customers installed and operated.  Recently we’ve been to deliver SaaS offerings, including for our core infrastructure products.  VMware Clouds on AWS delivers VMware’s Software-defined Datacenter as-a-Service within the AWS cloud.  Project Dimension delivers the SDDCaaS to customer environments.  In addition, VMware has many cloud services that layer on top of and add value to our core infrastructure offerings, such as AppDefense, Wavefront, Cloud Automation Services, and many more.  VMware has made many changes internally to how we deliver these SaaS products.  These include changes to product architecture, development process, CI/CD pipelines, creation of new teams, business process, support, and much more.
In this talk, we’ll provide a quick overview of VMware’s strategy and our recent SaaS products and announcements and then dive into a discussion about how VMware is changing and evolving to deliver these SaaS services with high quality, release frequency, and availability.

Keynote: Meet the Driver of the Self-Driving Datacenter
One of the greatest challenges of an ever-evolving modern IT spectrum is the ability to maintain manageability and control of a broad range of applications and the multi-cloud resources they consume. Traditionally, enterprises use a series of static policies and artificial boundaries to govern apps throughout their lifecycle. However, in an agile, app-centric world, these static policies can be a hinderance to innovation and service delivery. Enter Machine Learning, where application and infrastructure policies and operational boundaries can be dynamically established by machine learning algorithms best suited for the application and/or stated business intent. In this talk, we will explore how VMware's Cloud Management portfolio will incorporate Machine Learning principals to deliver the next-generation self-driving datacenter.
